Our

Mission

/about

Mirror House Media creates content from a new point of view: we believe entertainment can provide more than a great escape from life. What we watch can truly bring us to life.

The screen is a mirror — a mirror that sheds light. When a story comes to light on a screen, it becomes a creative force. Because of this, we hold ourselves accountable for the light we cast. So we create entertaining stories that are oriented toward a better future. Our shows don’t deny the shadows, but we don’t aim for them. Light and dark always strike a dynamic balance.

We want our viewers to see and sense themselves in our shows, to see others in unexpected light, to discover new worlds and ways of being within our world. We believe we can all create a world where we see and understand ourselves and each other better. Together.

Ultimately, it’s all about physics. Once a story becomes light, it gains an infinite life. And we want the shows we bring to light to be worthy of that legacy.

Mary Erickson

Mary Erickson discovered early in her career that Hollywood casts a powerful spell on culture. And that set her hair on fire. She left Montana for Los Angeles with a hot little degree in Philosophy and Religion in her hand, and in that first decade between day jobs and screenwriting workshops, she discovered her penchant for writing pithy taglines, which got her a “real job” in marketing at Universal Pictures. Philosophy, religion and marketing make interesting bedfellows, and also provided Mary with an unexpected higher education.

In observing the way cultural trends responded to the influence of Hollywood, it became startlingly clear that entertainment media is indeed a mirror, and so is its audience: the mind of the viewer projects what it ingests.

With that understanding, Mary began creating shows that could at once entertain, and ignite the potential of the human imagination to generate new possibilities for our world.

As the founder of Mirror House Media, Mary is dedicated to delivering shows through that lens.

While at Universal, Mary put the message behind many major wonderful motion picture campaigns. Some she’s most proud of include Babe, Apollo 13, Erin Brockovich, Bruce Almighty, all the Shreks, Love Actually, Liar Liar, Cars, Madagascar, Children of Men. Post-Universal, she also contributed to campaigns for a few little projects like Lord of the Rings, and The Hobbit.

Ana Haaland

Ana Haaland is an actor, writer and visual artist based in Los Angeles, California. After a childhood spent immersed in theatre, opera and live music, Ana decided to pursue training at Stella Adler Academy, a renowned conservatory in Los Angeles with a roster of extremely talented alumni, including board member Mark Ruffalo. Ana began training at age 20, and graduated from the school in 2022.

In 2019, Ana was tapped for a co-lead role in the upcoming Indie feature Emma Was Here directed by Daniel Rester. Other roles include such short films as Be Quiet by Noah Grossman, and Maya by Francesca Rossellini, as well as various student films, and Stella Adler productions such as Margaret (Timothy Mcneil) and A Bright Room Called

As a multidisciplinary artist, Ana works in a variety of themes both personal and existential; and believes every piece of art, no matter the medium, has its own hidden, sub-conscious philosophies and messages that exist to be investigated. Introspection is a powerful tool for an artist, and Ana’s work conveys a deep-running knowledge of the self that reflects back to us our communal joys, triumphs, and traumas that we rarely truly understand. Ana believes that the best stories live inside of us waiting to be given breath and life. We can transform the pain and confusion of being human by telling our stories to each other, and listening to others with an open heart and mind.
